The APMB went Home Hopping during the Chinese New Year holiday week and had a great time bonding and creating team spirit making the band more and more like a family.
Enough of words, lets let the pictures do the talking :)

The open house was held at night with lots of merriment and laughter. Seniors and juniors all enjoying the same food. The atmosphere was lively. Well, the boys had fun. The APMB is not all about music, its about inspiring lives.

Centennial Celebration Closing Ceremony 2010

Event Info

Date   : 7th February 2010 [Sunday]
Time   : 7.30am - 12.15am
Venue : SMK Anderson, Ipoh & Stadium Azlan Shah

4 performances in a day.

The most recent event that was the first major performance of the year after the orientation week.
The band boys practiced real hard for the whole month and prepared meticulously just for the day.
We assembled in school by 6.30am on Sunday morning and got ready to go to the hockey stadium for our first performance of the day.

The boys, dressed smartly in their uniforms reached the stadium at 7.30 and immediately set up and stood by for the performance which was scheduled at 9.00am. While waiting, the percussionist ran thru the solos while watching the game to hype up the entire crowd which consisted of almost 300 past and present proud Andersonians. Among them, stood the Raja Di-hilir of Perak and his admirable wife, Raja Puan Muda. The band had to perform directly in front of them and the nervousness of the members were clearly shown in their faces during the first thirty seconds before we started playing. But once we started to blow the trumpets, everyone mustered up courage and performed very well.

After that, we rushed back to school and got a half an hour rest before our next performance scheduled to be at 12.30. The boys by this time were a little tired but still strong enough to show a wonderful performance which gained commendation by various people. Under the rain, the band played the Lagu Kebesaran Negeri Perak and Anderson School Song in front of all the other uniformed units who were falled in at the assembly courts. The Raja Di-hilir and his Queen were there to witness our performance as they were going to officialise and launch the opening of the school gallery.

Straight after the performance, the boys had to rush to the hall for another performance. Fortunately, this performance only needed 6 members to accompany the Persatuan Kebangsaan Bersatu Malaysia cadets for the planting of the time capsule which was to take place at 3pm. The remaining members kept their instruments and rested before assembling back at school at 9pm.

At night, the members practiced and warmed up well before performing a mini concert at 11.30pm. The band performed 4 songs which included movie themes, and a medley. The band also had to put up an impromptu performance which was in the form of jazz to the amusement and entertainment of the crowd.
The performance really needed every ounce of energy from the members as we had to play 4 other extra songs besides the four already played. The band really impressed everyone until the Raja Puan Muda summoned our band master, Staff Sergeant Joses Khoo, to the stage just to commend and appreciate the band. It was one of the most honourable moments for each and every of the band members.

The boys really worked hard and the day would definitely be remembered by each and everyone of the members and motivate them to achieve greater heights.

End-Year Band Camp 2009

The Anderson Premier Military Band Annual Band Camp was held from the 27th-30th December 2009.
It was a very succesful camp as milestones were reached and the band took a big big step into improving.
The annual camp was held at the school hostel and various activities were held such as sketches, team building games, theory classes, outdoor drills, and not to forget the inaugural Fellowship Night.

The Fellowship Night is a night where many ABEX [Anderson Band Ex Members] come back to enjoy a dinner and a night full of fun with the current APMB members. This year, the theme for the night was Warrior Night.

All the members dressed up as warriors and some provided a good laugh for all. Awards such as Most Outstanding Junior, Most Disciplined Member, and Lion of the Year were given out just to mention a few.
The sketches this time around were very entertaining and the night went on smoothly.

The camp on an overall basis was hugely succesful and the organising committee did a good job. Cheerios.

ONE RHYTHM ONE HEART.

APMB Spirit lives on.
